Machines to match man by 2029 ?

That is the question. A lot of you saw movies with cyborgs killing people, but that’s not exactly the meaning of this post’s title. Well, according to Ray Kurzweil, a famous and futurist technologist, it seems that by 2029 machines “will have both the hardware and the software to achieve human level artificial intelligence“. He also thinks the future of intelligent machines is on the nano scale, with interfaces to enhace our own pshysiology ans intelligence. Maybe this is just another absurd supposition, but we could never know what kinds of crazy crap the 21st century’s going to hold until we see with our eyes.

Reem-B humanoid bot announced

After their first humanoid bot called Reem-A, the guys from Pal Technology decided to build him a friend. The new Reem-B, will feature a refined look , ultrasonic range finders, fully fingered hand and a stair walking abilities which if far better than Reem-A. Hey humanoids, watch out, it seems that Reem-B will be getting all the lady bots out there. The Reem-B is expected to be fully revealed in Q1 2008, so until then we’ll have to stare at his impressive chest.

RoboPhilo humanoid, available for $500

A new humanoid is now available, just in time for the holidays. This one is called RoboPhilo, the self-proclaimed humaniod of your dreams. After being announced months back, we finally have the chance to buy such an interesting model that featuress 20 servos, a remote and a couple of ports for measure. Those 20 servos control major limbs like arms and legs, his head, and all the joints inbetween but it’s only limited by your imagination and programming knowledge. This model is available now at the RoboBrothers website for $499. A good present for holidays.
