Motorola concept phone features stereo camera

March 18, 2008

Here we go again with another concept, but this time we’re talking about a Motorola concept phone, that packs a stereo camera, designed by Lysandre Follet. This dual-camera system could be useful for those who want to take 3D images. Unfortunately, other than Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, nothing else was said regarding the phone. I’m guessing that Follet inspiration came from a Samsung calculator model. It’s a little funny that the designer had chosen Motorola as a possible company that would put this stereo camera in its phones, because we all know that Motorola’s phone division is having serious financial problems.

The Atlas Kinetic Cell Phone concept

February 14, 2008

Here’s another cell phone concept designed by Ricardo Baiao, called the Atlas Kinetic. This one focuses on greener technologies without sacrificing the design, and as you can see from the pics, it’s all made of aluminum and glass.

kinetic_phone2.jpg

The central sapphire glass show the generating and charging unit and the power of this cell phone comes from kinetic energy like the one found in watches that use osciallating weight to power a mainspring. Even if it has an interesting design, the phone doesn’t contain fancy multimedia stuff.

If the power runs out, just give it a few upside down turns and the kinetic rotors will start the power again. That means won’t have to worry about the batteries once this cell phone will be launch. If somebody will produce it.

Futuristic Rail System sold to Ann Arbor, Detroit

February 14, 2008

Ann Arbor is one of the biggest cities in America and you know what they say : “if you can make it in Ann Arbor, you can make it anywhere!” Well, that’s why there are plans to build a futuristic transport system between those two cities.

medium_2265295144_944a6e98b0_o.jpg

From what we’ve found out, it seems that the rail system that combines Maglev, Hydrogen and Solar power to create a zero-emission mode of transportation. Interesting. Besides of carrying people from a city to another this rail system can also transport “electricity, water, liquid waste, fiber optics, hydrogen, oxygen and other fuels in its course.”

Even if this pics can make you think that this is just a concept of some grad student, it’s actually going to start being build later this year. Do you really think they will manage to build it ? I’m not so sure, but what can i say, i’d love to see Detroit and Ann Arbor linked by a futuristic, eco-friendly railway system.

USB Digital Camera without any LCD screens

January 24, 2008

Here comes another interesting concept from Sungwoo Park. It’s all about a tiny USB camera without any viewfinders, LCD screens or buttons (except 1). This mini USB Digital Camera combines the feeling of not knowing how your shots turned out with the ease of USB transfer. And there is no need for cables, all you have to do is to plug it straight away in your computer. I think it’s a very interesting concept, and it would be very nice to see it real. We never know what the future has in stores…

Gucci LED Watch Concept

January 18, 2008

Hey, here’s an interesting concept from Nuno Oliveira. This time we’re not talking about a Bello Touchscreen PMP or not even a Chocolate bar USB, this time it’s all about a Gucci bracelet watch with a sliding door revealing a glass LED display. It’s that interesting ? To be honest, i would have liked to have the possibility of buying such a watch, but unfortunately it’s just a concept for now…but you never know what the future has in stores. Check some pics with this concept below.

Bello Touchscreen PMP, simple and easy to use

January 10, 2008

Bello Touchscreen PMP

Today, we present you another interesting concept designed by Ryan Han, this time we’re not talking about a Chocolate Bar USB drive or Slider Shower, it’s a Bello Touchscreen PMP. This concept is special because it seems to be marrying the simplicity of hand gestures with deep navigation. Bello Touchscreen PMP was designed to be a simple and easy to use portable media player which will make surely make you fall in love with it (even if touchscreen gadgets are really not much to marvel at these days). Another interesting thing at this concept is that when you shake the player your files fall down like salt and pepper from a shaker, and you can stack and organize them. Isn’t that cool ? Oh, this isn’t all, tipping the player over another allows you to do file transfers.

Do you think this concept will become real ?

sQuba, Rinspeed’s underwater concept car

December 27, 2007

The general ride-pimping expert Rinspeed is back with maybe their most ambitious project to date : an underwater concept car. The electric motor-powered concept is expected to be revelead next March at the Geneva Motor Show. This concept reminds us somewhat of the Gibbs Aquada and Hydra Spyder the only difference is that the sQuba is able to dive and navigate up to ten meters under the sea, thanks to jet drives in the bow and propellers in the stern. I think it’s a very interesting concept that could become reality sooner or later.

A self-contained, on-board system inside the carbon nanotube-based body structure provides occupants with fresh air while submerged, although the engineers probably let down more than a few folks by omitting a weapons system of any kind. As for the release date, we don’t know anything not even production plans. Let’s wait and see what the future has in stores.

Chocolate Bar USB Drive Concept

December 13, 2007

chocolate_folder2.jpg

Here’s another interesting concept designed by Sang-Hoon Lee, but this time it’s a USB Drive. Weird, or maybe not, this one looks like a chocolate bar and each piece is made of a modular flash drive. It the middle of this chocolate we find a touchscreen which is used to organize collective files. Even if the design of this concept is very interesting and quite tasty, we wonder if this would work in the real world.
