Sony’s Monster A900 Available For Pre-Order

I’m sure you have been saving all those pennies for something really special. So, here it is, Sony’s monster Alpha A900 DSLR. At a price-point of $2,999 this isn’t for everyone, only for a DSLR aficionado (or gadget lover) but if you’re in the market for a full frame shooter with a handful of enviable features you might want to turn your eyeballs in this direction.

The Canon’s new entry-level digital DSLR, Rebel XS was (accidentally?) unveiled by Canon in a software update to Canon Digital Photo Professional. The DPP is packaged with every Canon DSLR, including the Rebel XSi. Unfortunately, there is no word regarding the spcs of the Rebel XS (aka 1000D) but, however, we’ll probably hear more information as we approach Photokina 2008.

Altek unveils a GPS-Enabled 8MP point-and-shoot camera

A built-in WiFi camera is not enough for you ? Well, here’s a point-and-shoot camera that features an integrated GPS. According to DigiTimes, a taiwanese ODM / OEM maker, called Altek, has just unveiled a camera that packs 8-megapixel sensor, 3-inch touchscreen and GPS. This new features enables users to automatically record the longitude and latitude of where a picture is taken. Interesting! Oh, it seems that the firm is already negotiating with some potential clients in Europe and the US.

Nikon, one of the largest and most popular digital camera makers, unveiled its three new digital cameras, P80, S52 and S52c, from the big family of the CoolPix series.
The CoolPix P80 is a compact camera that features 18x optical zoom Nikkor lens that uses Optical Vibration Reduction, (covers focal lengths from 27mm to 486mm), a 10.1 megapixel image sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD on the rear , ISO sensitivity to ISO6400, and several shooting modes, such as Sport
Continuous mode (allows 30 consecutives shots).
The only difference between the other ones, the S52 and S52c Coolpix cameras is that the S52 sports Wi-Fi connectivity. Both packs a 9.0 megapixel camera, 3x 38-114mm Zoom-Nikkor lens, vibration reduction, up to ISO2000 sensitivity, a 3-inch LCD on the rear and SD or SDHC cards slots.
The CoolPix P80 is expected to be available in April for a price tag of $399.95, while the other ones, the S52 and S52c, will land in May and will sell for $249.95 and $279.95, respectively.

Yes, you’ve heard it well, Canon is going to launch three new PowerShots in April 2008 : SD890 IS, SD790 IS, and SD770 IS. One of this new cameras is Canon PowerShot SD890 IS features a 2.5-inch PureColor II LCD display, a 10 megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom, 5x zoom lens and sub 1-inch macro. Its price is somewhere around $400. The second one is SD790 IS and it packs a 10 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, 3-inch PureColor LCD II display which comes with an adjacent multi-control dial and new button configuration that combine to form a flat control panel, and it will cost you $349. And finally, the third one is SD770 IS which sports a 10 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch PureColor LCD II screen and an optical viewfinder. The price for the SD770 IS is somwhere around $300.

PICTO’s Mp3 playback DigiArt i90 camera

Well, it’s not the first digital camera that features Mp3 playback but Picto’s 7 megapixel DigiArt i90 it defenetly comes with a certain style that can turn some heads. It measures 17.5-mm thick and packs a a 3x optical zoom lens, 3.0-inch LCD, face recognition, unspecified anti-shake technology, voice recorder, 740 x 480 / 30fps MPEG-4 video recorder, and it can also support MP3s and video of unspecified formats. For now, it is only available in Korea for ?179,000 (about $185).

Casio’s EX-F1 camera with 60fps burst and 1200fps video has just received a ship date. To put your hand on such a shooter you have to pay ?130,000 (tax inclusive) but only after it’s launch 28th March in Japan. We expect to see a lot of people interested in this camera that can burst at 60fps while shooting up to 1200fps video. We still don’t know the US or European realease date but the price is expected to pop somewhere around $1000 (pre tax).

Sigma DP1 to be available in Spring 2008

Well, do you remember when we’ve first told you about the Sigma DP1 ? The Sigma DP1 was first announced a year and a half ago and since then it has been creating buzz anywhere in the world and now the camera has finally got a price and a date. . According to the official site, this product will be available starting tomorrow at a price of ?89820 (about $850 US) but if you can’t wait to find out more about the Sigma DP1, check Pop Photo’s review.

Sony announces Cyber-Shot DSC-H50

Sony introduced a new Cyber-Shot DSC-H50 digital camera today, a new 9.1-megapixel shooter which seems to be ideal for fast action shooting. Perk your ears guys because the successor of the DSC-H9 “super zoom” camera packs a Carl Zeiss 15x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch tilting LCD display, ISO to 3200 and a long-distace flash that can shot subjects from 55 feet away. One of the best features of the camera is the advanced sports shooting mode which gives you the possibility to utilize ultra-high shutter speeds (somewhere around 1/4000 of a second) and utilizes continuous auto-focusing . We don’t know if you people heard about the good looking Sigma DP1, but we have good news for those who really want to buy this handsome 10-megapixel shooter. Starting today, Sigma DP1 is available for pre-ordering on Amazon for just $799.99 ($200 less than the list price). Well, even if you pre-order it you still have to wait until March 25th to put hands on the goods.
