SanDisk Mobile Ultra memory cards to be launched

There’s not much too say regarding this launch only that SanDisk’s new Mobile Ultra line of memory cards will sure confuse poeple at their local electronics shop. The cards will pack a USB adaptor, to make transfers to PC easier and they are currently shipping in microSDHC and Memory Stick Micro (M2) flavors in 2, 4, and 8GB versions. Their prices range from $34.99 to $129.99, depending the capacity you choose. 
Sony’s tiny hybrid fuel cell system unveiled

Everybody knows that fuel cells will change the face of the electronics industry once they finally start making their way into electronic devices. Recently, Sony has unveiled its own ultra-small hybrid fuel cell system which seems to be small enough to fit in one hand.
It measures 50mm x 30mm and combines a fuel cell, Li-polymer secondary battery and a control circuit. It looks like this is the first time Sony showed a complete fuel cell system that has a control circuit and secondary battery. The company expects to commercialize it and a Sony’s engineer said : ?We have been aiming to mount (a fuel-cell system) in mobile devices and finally reached a level of commercial design.? The fuel cell runs on methanol.

Hey gamers, here’s the world’s fasterst Sata hard drive : the 300GB VelociRaptor from Western Digital. Expected to be 35% faster than its previsious siblings, the 10,000 RPM packs a 3Gbps SATA interface, 16MB cache, and 1.4 million hour MTBF thanks to the IcePack Mounting Frame. For now, the hard drive is available exclusively on Alienware’s ALX gaming desktop and in mid-May, everybody can grab it with $300.

Lately, we saw a storage devices or memory cards with bigger storage capacity, but the 32 and 64GB Sata II 2.5-inch solid state drives seems to read with 120MBps and to write with 100MBps. Impressive! That’s what it puts them up there on the ranks. Unfortunately OCZ didn’t mentioned anything regarding the price for them and neighter the release date.

After managing to put a whole terabyte of storage into their LinkStation Mini, it seems that Buffalo is now offering some extra bytes in its latest external drive. The 500GB MiniStation TurboUSB features a bigger capacity than it’s predecessor, the 320GB model and it also offers up to 30-percent faster transfer rates than the ordinary USB hard drives. Interesting, huh? Well, that’s not all, alongside this model, Buffalo also offers the firm’s own Shock Resistant technology and SecureLockWare, which can prevent unauthorized acces to your stored data. The product will be available later this month for a nice price of $329.

Maxell says goodbye to discs manufacturing

Here’s the end of Maxell’s CD, DVD, Blu-ray and HD DVD discs production by outsourcing it to other manufacturers. Well, we’re not so sure that anyone else can provide the same unique experience of Maxell tape discs, but we never know. Anyway, the Maxwell brand name will live on.

Transcend rolled out the 16GB SDHC Class 6 memory card

After A-Data launched its largest memory card and claimed to be the “world’s first” 16GB SDHC in the Class 6 family, Transcend is now offering us a new viable alternative. Their 16GB memory card guarantees a minimum write speed of 6MB/second and features ECC (Error Correcting Code) to automatically detect and correct errors during data transfer, preventing data corruption and missing files. Even if it isn’t a word about the price or ship date we doubt you’ll be waiting too much before seeing this on stores.

Sandisk just announced some new memory cards. The first one is the 8GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card for use (primarily) in Sony Ericsson’s cellphones expected sometime in Q4. As you well noticed (or not) that’s the world’s highest capacity M2 card. The second one is their new 2GB to 8GB uSSD 5000 Solid State Disks which measure just one-fourth the size of a 1.8-inch SSD. The new uSSD is meant for sub $250 PCs with SanDisk specifically calling out Intel’s Classmate PC. Also announced are a $30 Multi Card Expresscard adapter and new high-performance $80 4GB SDHC Plus and $160 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo cards from their Ultra II lineup.

Toshiba just announced an 8GB microSDHC card and even a massive 16GB full-size SDHC card. This ones will be launched in October for ?40,000, about $350. The 32GB card will be available starting January of next year for ?80,000 (almost 700$) . I must have one , as soon as i can i will buy one for myself.
