Sony Ericsson W595, first rumors

Sony Ericsson W595, codenamed Linda, has just entered for the first time in the sight of some gadgets spies. In this case the spies are the guys from le Journal du Geek.
The W595 will be a Walkman slider, especially recommended to those who prefer using the cellphone as a MP3 player. It will feature a 3.2 MP camera, stereo speakers and radio, but that’s not all, the most important feature of this slider is its shake control system, which allows total control of mp3 player simply by moving the device in certain directions.

According to some rumors, Sony Ericsson is preparing the launch of a new phone, also known as “Emelie”. Sony Ericsson’s fans have already noticed something strange, it seems that the Japan-Swedish company is using female names for all their phones. The questions is : why?

We don’t know too much about Sony Ericsson Emelie but we expect it to be a claimshell that features 2 megapixel camera and no GPS and Wi-Fi support. As far as we belive, Emelie will be a low-end terminal and the price will be somewhere around 200-300 euros. Let’s wait for the official launch of the phone.

Sony Ericsson recently announced its new entry-level phone named T303 slider phone which is a GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 phone with a mirrored screen, metal housing and chrome finish. The T303 features a 1.3 Megapixel Camera, USB Mass Storage, 1.8? display (128 x 160 pixels), a built-in FM radio, its own media player that comes with Sony Ericsson’s TrackID features (allows users to indentify the name of the track and the singer).
?The T303 is a great addition to the Sony Ericsson T-line of products, combining premium finish and materials with a good feature-set to deliver ?style with substance?.? said Lykke Taersbol, Senior Designer at the Sony Ericsson Creative Design Centre. ?The balance between shape and size in combination with the design makes it a truly eye-catching product. Our aim was to create a phone that would function equally as a daily companion as well as something to show off on a night out.?
The T303 will be available from mid-2008 but only in selected makets. No word on pricing yet. More specifications after the break.
Sony Ericsson confirms that XPERIA X1 is still on track for 2008

We have good news for those who eagerly awaited Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X1; according to a press release it seems that this product is still on track for release in the second half of this year.

“I can confirm that we will be launching the X1 product in 2nd Half of 2008, as per our announcement of 10th February that we made in Barcelona”, said Aldo Liguori, who is the Corporate Vice President of the Global Communications and PR department at Sony Ericsson.
Well, we know there are a lot of poeple who would have wanted to get their hands on XPERIA sooner but at least the launch date isn’t a rumor anymore. You can also check XPERIA X1’s specifications after the break.

Even if Mobile Word Congress hasn’t started yet, Sony Ericsson couldn’t wait more and decided to launch for new lower-end devices. This devices target the people from developing nations. I know this ain’t too interesting, but here are the eight new variants of the four new models (T270, T280, R300, R306) :
