Fresh details regarding Microsoft’s Sphere revealed

If you are interested in reading more details regarding Microsoft’s Sphere, you’ve come to the right place. An recently video reveals Sphere’s photo browser and video browser complete with multi-touch “pinch” resizing, object rotation and a “send-to-the-darkside” gesture that tossed an object to the sphere’s opposite side. In addition, a diagram reveals sphere’s innards, including a projector and all sorts of IR magic. All this in the video below.

Do you remember those Sony XBRs that were leaked back in mid-April ? Well, Sony has just confirmed the launch of the new lineup. The XBR8 series include the 55-inch KDL-55XBR8 / 46-inch KDL-46XBR8 which packs the outfit’s TRILUMINOS three-color LED backlight technology, 10-bit processing, BRAVIA Engine 2, Motionflow 120Hz and Advanced Contrast Enhancer PRO. The other models from this lineup are the 70-inch KDL-70XBR7/ 40-inch KDL-40XBR7 and the XBR6. The XBR6 HDTV features sets range from 32- to 52-inches. I think tomorrow we will find out more about this models, as Sony is ready to leak all the details regarding their new lineup.

An important day for the low-cost ultra-portables. After Dell’s low-cost laptop it looks like Acer is going to launch its own sub-$500 ultra-portable. The images above are the first pics of the Acer’s “Aspire One”. According to the forum over at UMPC Portal, it seems the “Aspire One” is rumored to feature a 8.9-inch display. Well, let’s wait for the official release, to find out more details.

Not exactly a new line as the outfits of the latest bundle of media players are all rips of other units. The first one is the K-SLIM, a simplistic DAP that features a 1.8-inch display, an FM tuner, a microphone, a self-12h and compatibility audio / photo / video. It will be available in 2GB and 4GB. The second one, K-TOUCH packs a 2-inch touchscreen sensitive pad FingerSlide, a thickness of 7.3 mm, an anodized aluminum housing bimatiere / ABS glossy, card readers MicroSD , A microphone, an FM tuner and a compatible audio / photo / video.The third one, the V-TOUCH boasts a 2.4-inch panel, while the M430 TR PMP arrives with 4.3-inches of screen.

Presented at CES 2008, Hitachi’s UltraThin 1.5 LCD is finally available in the States. You can find it in 4 versions : 32-, 37-, 42- and 47-inch sizes and two clans : the Director’s Series and Ultra Vision models. The price for such a LCD range from $1,800 to $4,700, and comes with a 1-year or 2-year warranty. Judging by their July to September availability dates, this product may bot yet be ready for shipping, but we’ll leave it to you to sort out the contradictions in Hitachi’s press release.

We already knew that this one will become official in Europe, but now things are clear. The 2.1 Bravia Dav-F200 home theater system packs S-Master digital amplification (it can deliver up to 135-watts of power to each speaker). It also features an integrated DVD player that can support Mp3/ photo/ DivX discs and the unit also includes 1080p upscaling over HDMI along with a built-in USB port that gives you the possibility to listen to WMA / AAC files. Unfortunately, there is no word regarding its price nor US availability.

Samsung launches four Touch of Color series monitors

As it writes in the title, Samsuns is going to release four new Touch of Color series displays. The monitors features 20,000:1 contrast ratios, and some supernatural features such as MagicColor, MagicBright, and MagicTune. The line starts with two lower-tier 2ms models : the $259 T190 19-incher and the $359 T220 22-incher and two higher-tier models : the $499 T240 24-incher, and the $599 T260 26-incher. You can put your hands on such a display by the end of July.

Targus’s NXT-based Portable Speaker Book unveiled

There are a few sophisticated portable speakers out there, but Targus keeps it simple with its upcoming Portable Speaker Book. The device features a 3.5 mm audio input, which means you can connect it to an iPod or a notebook. Powered by four AAA batteries for use anywhere, the device uses NXT’s Balanced Radiator (BR) technology to boost sound dispersion and frequency response.
The Targus Portable Speaker Book will hit the market this summer, but we have no idea on how much this will cost. I bet it isn’t so expensive.

Canon’s new duo wasn’t the first and neither the last announcement at NAB Show 2008. Panasonic had also launched its new camcorder : the AG-HMC150, which is the newest member of the AVCCAM family and can record clips at 1,280 x 720 or 1,440 x 1,080, unsing the industry standard MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 compression profile. It features 3-inch 3CCD imagers, 13x Leica Dicomar zoom lens, optical image stabilization, a digital signal processor and also the ability to store footage on SD / SDHC flash cards.
The price for such a camcorder is somewhere around $4,500, but it certainly worth it.
Canon launched XL H1S and XL H1A HD camcorders

Canon’s new XL H1S and XL H1A are made on the foundation of the company’s well-received XL H1 prosumer. These two camcorders feature some interesting additions, such as the updated 20x HD Video Lens III, audio input capabilities, external LCD monitor output plug and some image and color settings improvements. The XL H1S hits in June for $9,000 while the H1A is expected to become available mid-July for a price tag of $6,000.
